2024 will be the 22nd year of running our beautiful CL and we've made so many wonderful friends during this time. Do come and see for yourself; we love our CL ! The Booking Diary is open and waiting....

If you`d like to book, please either phone us (leave a message if I'm not at home and I`ll return your call as soon as possible) or send an e-mail. 01621 782128 or zimsmiths@yahoo.co.uk

We don't have an online booking facility as we much prefer the personal touch of being able to chat with you, answer any questions you may have and just get to know you a little before your arrival.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE:

As we’re increasingly busy throughout the summer months, we politely ask that you adhere to the 12pm arrival/departure times. If you’d like to arrive earlier or leave later, please have a chat with me beforehand and you’ll be able to park near the CL entrance on the grass by the Information Room. I  try to mow vacated pitches before new arrivals, but it’s difficult with back-to-back bookings!

Our ride-on mower makes an enormous difference to the grass on the CL field and with twice-weekly mowing and cuttings collected, it looks wonderful (and is lots of fun to use!)

It`s always heart-warming to welcome lots of familiar faces back to the farm; it`s just like having friends coming to stay!
Since opening in 2003, occupancy has steadily increased. July 2018 was 97% full; August 2018 was 98% full;August 2019’s occupancy was almost 99% and September 2020 was 100% full. 2022 and 2023 exceeded all previous occupancy rates.

We have a Facebook page for our CL and I post regular updates and photos on it. Do have a look if you get a moment and please add any photos of our farm from your visits! It's listed as 'Burnham Wick Farm CL' https://www.facebook.com/Burnham-Wick-Farm-CL-19317524503 (click on the black link)

The nightly fee of  £16 includes a 10amp hook-up, a fresh water tap on the site, an awning, car and a maximum of 3 dogs, plus free use of the toilet. We no longer have a shower.

This rate is for 2 adults and 2 children; extra adults are £1 per night and children 50p  per night.

There is a MAXIMUM of 4 adults allowed per pitch and ONE car per pitch.

We do allow day-visitors to the CL and we ask that they park off-site. Please be mindful of our other guests and keep children/ dogs under control and noise to a minimum.

**Please note that we don't allow very large breed dogs on the site.*Please enquire and we can discuss this.

Extra-long/large motorhomes are only allowed on site at our discretion. We don't accept 5th wheelers or RVs.

2024 price will still  be £16 per night, including the 10amp hook-up. No hidden costs.

BOOKING INFO - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

A deposit is required, to be sent within  ONE week of making the booking and this is to ensure that once a reservation has been made, it is honoured. As we've  become increasingly booked up, we`re sure you`ll appreciate why we need to do this.

Please note that deposits are mostly non-refundable and non-transferable but partial or full refunds may be made if the booking is for a long way ahead.
Balance is due 10 days before arrival and any nights booked will be charged for unless cancelled well in advance of arrival and I`m able to re-let them. Deposits and payments may be made via online banking (BACS)

______________________________________________

Our relaxed approach seems popular as we don`t specify exactly which pitch you have to park on. As long as you park with the pitch number in line with the MIDDLE of your caravan or motorhome, we don`t mind if you park end on or parallel to the trees or wooden railings..it`s your choice!

When arriving in Burnham, ignore your sat-nav which will take you through a housing estate. Follow the directions in the book and just stay on the High St down to the Victoria Inn.

When leaving, we recommend you use Riverside Rd (second left once in Orchard Rd) as it is wider than Western Rd. Your sat-nav may take you another way, but our route is simpler!

Please note that we do not allow the use of fireworks or sky-lanterns at any time on our farm. With straw stacks, hay bales and wooden barns nearby, the fire risk is enormous.

Ball games are not allowed on the CL, there's lots of grassy areas on the farm which are perfect for balls.

We warmly welcome well-behaved dogs and encourage you to explore the many footpaths, bridleways and the seawall with your dog .There is a shingle beach a short walk along the seawall, which is perfect for dogs and picnics. Kayakers and canoeists can launch from the Town jetty along the front and explore the River Crouch and nearby waterways and islands. Walkers and cyclists have a huge variety of routes to follow and as our farm is exceedingly flat, none of it is too strenuous!

`Our favourite CL site-this site is one you will visit again and again..`

` This site is just wonderful.  It ticks every box for facilities, views, friendly owners, walks and things to do.  We sat yesterday evening watching the horses and as dusk fell we were entertained by the young owls learning to fly.`

`If you like quietude and nature then this place has to be high on your list. Highly recommended.`

`In the evening, you couldn`t hear a thing, not even the gentle hum of distant traffic and that`s quite an achievement in England!`

`This is a site to savour, to enjoy. Do not go here if you do not appreciate the bird song, the environment, and a small quiet friendly site. The site is packed with peace and stillness and the fullness of nature. £10 you get more than what it says on the tin; the peace is priceless.Great local information on walks, cycles, history and conservation. This is heaven`

`Oh how peaceful - one of the quietest sites we`ve stayed on, being at the end of a lane about 3/4 mile outside of the village. The friendly owners were a mine of information...`

`We loved their approach to the environment; the abundance of wildlife is amazing`

'...thank you for a scenic and restful stay on your farm.We very much look forward to returning next year...here's to your continued CL success!'

`Just to say thank you very much for the use of your site.It suited us excellently and we really enjoyed the area. The unique feature for us was the high population of hares; never seen so many or so frequently.Hope to see you again some day..`

'Wick Farm is a really good CL. The site is totally flat and free-draining, even though we stayed on the wettest August Bank Holiday! We will definitely return to this site'

`What is outstanding is the care the owners have taken to make you feel welcome`

`Nice to see the owners make a fuss of the campers.Thank you and well done`

`It was just perfect`

`....A fantastic site for relaxing and the best value for money of any site we have visited`

`....If it`s peace and quiet you want, then this hits the nail, but do book in advance because its getting more and more popular with only limited spaces. We will be back..`

`.. am a single person and had my two dogs with me and felt completely safe. As soon as I arrived Adrienne made me feel welcome..`

`...Lovely quiet site in perfect surroundings, just right for long solitary walks along the estuary or countryside...`

`....A yearly pilgrimage for us`

`....This is a site we will gladly revisit - if only because our dogs were clearly depressed at having to leave it!`

We look forward to welcoming you to our CL
